Built-In Lighting FAQ

Common questions about recessed lighting, concealed LEDs and integrated lighting installations.
Can built-in lighting be added to an existing room?
Yes, in many cases. It depends on the ceiling, wall or furniture construction, available space for wiring and drivers, and access to the existing electrical installation. We assess the area first and recommend the most practical solution.
Do recessed lights need space above the ceiling?
Usually, yes. Recessed fixtures need enough depth and suitable clearance for the fitting, wiring and heat management. The available ceiling construction determines which fixtures can be used.
Can concealed LED lighting be dimmed?
Yes, if the LED strips, drivers and controls are compatible. Dimming can make built-in lighting more flexible for both practical and ambient use.
Where can built-in lighting be installed?
Built-in lighting can be integrated into ceilings, coves, shelves, niches, cabinets, stairs and other architectural details, provided the construction and electrical installation are suitable.
Can you hide the wiring and LED drivers?
Often, yes. We plan the installation so wiring and drivers are concealed where possible while still keeping them accessible for maintenance when required.
Do I need carpentry or plaster work before built-in lighting is installed?
Sometimes. If new recesses, coves, niches or structural changes are required, carpentry or plaster work may need to be completed before or alongside the electrical installation.
