Will a motion sensor work with my existing lights?
Usually, but compatibility depends on the type of light, LED driver, electrical load and existing wiring. We check the installation first and recommend a sensor that is suitable for the connected load.
What is the difference between a motion sensor and a presence sensor?
A motion sensor is mainly designed to detect movement, while a presence sensor can detect smaller movements and is better suited to areas where people may remain relatively still, such as offices, bathrooms or workspaces.
Can I choose how long the light stays on?
Yes. Most compatible sensors and timers allow the activation time to be adjusted. Depending on the system, we can also configure different behaviour based on time of day or light level.
Can outdoor lights turn on automatically at sunset?
Yes. Outdoor lighting can be controlled using a dusk sensor, astronomical timer or compatible smart system so it switches automatically according to sunset and sunrise.
Can a timer control more than just lighting?
Yes, depending on the electrical load and the selected equipment. Timers can be used for suitable lighting, fans and selected electrical loads, but the device must be correctly rated for what it controls.
What do you need to know before giving me a price?
We normally need to know what you want to control, where the sensor or timer will be installed, whether existing wiring is available, the type of electrical load and whether you want simple automatic control or app-based smart automation.
