TRACK LIGHTING

Flexible Lighting That Adapts to Your Space Adjustable. Practical. Precise.

We install track lighting systems that allow individual spotlights to be positioned and aimed where light is needed. Ideal for living rooms, kitchens, artwork, feature walls and spaces where lighting needs may change over time.

Track type, electrical supply, fixture compatibility and positioning should be planned together to ensure a clean installation and the right lighting effect.

Where Track Lighting Works Best

A flexible solution for spaces that need directional and adjustable light
FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE

Track lighting works especially well in open-plan rooms, kitchens, living rooms, hallways and spaces with artwork or changing layouts. Adjustable light heads make it easy to direct light toward different zones, work surfaces or features without installing many separate ceiling points.

It is also a strong option for spaces where the lighting may need to change over time. Compatible fixtures can often be repositioned, added or replaced as furniture, artwork or room use changes.

Why Choose Track Lighting?

Flexible lighting that can adapt as your space changes
FLEXIBLE LIGHTING

Track lighting allows several adjustable fixtures to run from one continuous track. Each spotlight can be positioned and aimed individually, making it easy to direct light toward artwork, work surfaces, seating areas or architectural features.

It is a practical option for rooms where lighting needs may change over time, because compatible fittings can often be repositioned, added or replaced without creating new ceiling light points.

BEFORE INSTALLATION

What to Consider Before Installing Track Lighting

The right track system depends on the ceiling, room layout and how you want to control the light

Track lighting is flexible, but the system should be planned correctly from the start. We review the room, ceiling and electrical installation before recommending the track type, layout and fixtures.

Planning these details early helps avoid poor beam placement, visible wiring, incompatible fittings and unnecessary future changes.

We consider

  • Ceiling type and mounting method
  • Track length and layout
  • Number and position of spotlights
  • Beam angles and light direction
  • Dimming and control requirements
  • Single-circuit or multi-circuit control
  • Existing electrical supply
  • Future flexibility and expansion

How We Plan Track Lighting

We plan the track layout, spotlight positions and beam direction around how the space is used.
Lighting Goals Space Assessment Track Layout Fixture Selection Beam & Aiming Plan Installation Testing & Adjustment
Single-Circuit Track Simple residential lighting Surface-mounted or recessed High All lights controlled together Clean and practical Easy to add or reposition compatible spotlights
Multi-Circuit Track Larger rooms and zoned lighting Surface-mounted or recessed High Separate groups can be controlled independently Professional and flexible Good for future zoning changes
Surface-Mounted Track Existing ceilings and easier retrofits Mounted directly to the ceiling High Depends on selected track system Visible architectural element Easy to extend where compatible
Recessed Track Minimal and architectural interiors Integrated into the ceiling High Depends on selected system Very clean and discreet Flexible once the track is installed
Magnetic Track Modern modular lighting Surface-mounted or recessed Very high Depends on magnetic system and controls Slim and contemporary Very easy to move or change compatible modules

Track Lighting FAQ

Important questions about track systems, adjustable spotlights, installation and upgrades.
Should I choose single-circuit or multi-circuit track lighting
Single-circuit systems control all lights on the track together and are usually sufficient for simpler residential installations. Multi-circuit systems are better when you want separate groups of spotlights on the same track to be controlled independently. We recommend the system based on the room layout and how you want to use the lighting.
Can track lighting be installed on my existing ceiling without major renovation?
Often, yes. Surface-mounted track can usually be added with less disruption than recessed systems. The final solution depends on the existing electrical point, ceiling construction, cable route and where the track needs to run.
Can I add, move or replace spotlights later?
Usually, yes, provided the new fittings are compatible with the installed track system. This is one of the main advantages of track lighting, but compatibility matters because not all track systems and adapters are interchangeable.
Is recessed track lighting worth the extra installation work?
Recessed track gives a cleaner, more architectural appearance but usually requires more ceiling work and planning. Surface-mounted track is often easier and more cost-effective in an existing room. The better option depends on the desired finish and the ceiling construction.
Can track lighting provide the main lighting for a room, or is it only for accent lighting?
It can do both. With the correct number of fixtures, beam angles and positioning, track lighting can provide general illumination as well as focused task and accent lighting. Poorly planned systems can create dark areas or excessive glare, so layout matters.
Can track lighting be dimmed or connected to smart controls?
Yes, depending on the track system, fixtures, drivers and controls selected. If dimming, zoning or smart control is important, it should be planned before the system is chosen so all components are compatible.
What happens if I choose a track system and later cannot find compatible lights?
This is an important consideration. Track systems are not universally compatible, so we recommend choosing a well-supported system with suitable replacement and expansion options. That makes future changes much easier.
How do you prevent track lighting from creating glare or looking like a shop installation?
The result depends heavily on fixture choice, beam angle, spacing, aiming and track position. We plan these together so the light feels intentional and architectural rather than overly bright or commercial.
